Tektites are a special type of meteorite which take their name from the Greek verb that means to melt.
Tektites are viterous silica like bodies which form rounded or slightly spherical green-blcak masses similar to obsidian (volcanic glass).
Tektites have been found in Bohemia, Australia and the islands of Indochina.
The kit consists of a dig out block approx 11cm x 8cm with four tektites enclosed.
